⚡ AI Entrepreneur Story Of The Week!

If you haven’t heard of him, you must have been living under a massive rock…

This week’s AI Entrepreneur is none other than the world’s new youngest self-made billionaire - Alexandr Wang, CEO of Scale AI 🔥

Credits: Times Now

Dubbed “the next Elon Musk”, Alexandr started Scale AI during his summer break after his first year at MIT, and soon dropped out after receiving funding from Y Combinator. At 25, Alexandr grew Scale AI to $7.3 Billion in May last year.

Scale AI deals with preparing the datasets required to train AI systems in self-driving cars, government projects, VR, and more. Personally, it’s a brilliant angle to the AI market. After all, every AI model is only as good as its training data. Definitely my favourite entrepreneurial story so far on Byte-Sized!

👆 My #BuildInPublic Feature

The #BuildInPublic feature for this week is an awesome showcase of some of the new Generative AI in photoshop you might have seen…

And it goes to - Jussi Kemppainen (@JussiKemppainen) 🎉

In his extensive Twitter thread, Jussi goes through his process of designing the location graphics for a point and click game using Generative Fill on Photoshop, Blender, and Midjourney.

It’s a perfect example of how crazy Generative AI technology is becoming. The release of Generative Fill sparked massive hype, and this game showcases just how useful it can be. I’m excited to follow along Jussi’s #BuildInPublic journey!

🔨 Amazing AI Projects Worth Looking Into

Project #1: Gorilla by Shishir (@shishirpatil_)

Now this is a cool one for those who love to use AI to help them in coding. You might find that even GPT4 is quite lacklustre in terms of finding the right solutions to code. While GPT4 and other LLMs don’t effectively leverage API calls in their solutions, Gorilla is fine-tuned to provide accurate code solutions that maximize the use of APIs.

Project #2: Everett World (@WorldEverett)

I think I’m going to have to include an AI art project in here every week, they’re just too good! This one is not exactly a project, but Everett tweets his AI art creations regularly and they’re stunning! I really love his style and his direction with his art, which revolves around interior design. Really cool artworks.

Project #3: Jeda.ai by GoJedaAi (@goJedaAi)

And lastly, this one is great for students! Jeda.ai is platform that allows you to generate diagrams for all sorts of use cases - from planing to data analysis. It can even create an entire business plan in whichever diagram you deem best! All done with super simple prompting. Really nice tool!

🗞 Last Week’s AI News Roundup

The Headliner: Alibaba begins rollout of its ChatGPT-style tech

Yet again, another corporate giant joins the race in an attempt to take the lead in the country’s AI race. Alibaba revealed Tongyi Qianwen, its large language model. It is now available for public testing, and will be integrated first into DingTalk, a business-focused messaging service run by Alibaba.

OpenAI commits $1M to support AI-driven cybersecurity initiatives

As the power of AI grows, so do concerns regarding cybersecurity in the form of deep fakes, malware etc. OpenAI has announced a $1M grant towards initiatives to curb this worry, with 3 main goals - Empower cybersecurity through AI, measure AI’s capability in such tasks, and lastly, to raise awareness for the use of AI in the field.

I wonder if you read theory 5 of my eBook 😁

AI eliminated nearly 4,000 jobs in May

The ever-present concern of AI replacing our jobs still remains at large, with the number being at 4000 for the month of May. While jobs including creative work, such as writing, as well as administrative and clerical work are seeing declines, there’s a whole new market for jobs in Generative AI that’s due.

🌎 AI Market Insights

(For the investors out there)

The story to share this week is this - there are always two sides to the market.

On one hand, we have the positives like Roundhill Investments, a major ETF firm provider, betting that the artificial intelligence boom is just starting. They’ve just launched Generative AI & Technology ETF (CHAT) around 20 days ago, and it has since been up 8%.

“These companies, we believe, are not just a fad. They’re powering something that could be as ubiquitous as the internet itself”

Roundhill Investments CSO, Dave Mazza

And on the other, stocks such as C3.ai that were up 257% in 2023 saw plummets by 13.2% just yesterday due to missing revenue estimates, a problem we raised with Nvidia last week.

Nevertheless, the market is still looking hot, with tons of great stocks to look into, from Adobe to Snowflake. I’d recommend reading the first article below to get up to speed with the debt ceilings concerns among the boom in AI stocks. Other than that, happy investing!
